How to buy

Firstly, when you decide to buy a piece of the world, you are agreeing to the rules on this page. After you have read and agreed to these rules, you have two choices:

1. Email me detailing the blocks you wish to buy together with your logo, description and link. I will then send an invoice to you through PayPal or via bank transfer.
   
2. Buy now with PayPal and send your logo, description and link through by email later (after checking out, you will be taken to a page explaining how to do this).

After I receive your payment and information, I will put your logo on the website. It's that easy.

Rules

When buying blocks on WorldForSale.com, you are agreeing to the following rules:

• Price. The price of each block is US$100, this is not negotiable.
• Rights. Purchase of block(s) gives you the following rights:
  • Logos. Place a logo of your choice (subject to "content suitability" rules) over the purchased blocks on the main world map located at worldforsale.com/index.html.
  • Links. Have a clickable link from your block(s) to a website of your choice subject to "content suitablility" rules.
  • Changing links and logos. You can change your link/logo for a flat fee of 10% of the current value of the block. New links/logos must also confirm to "content suitability" rules below.
  • Website description. Have a description of your website that will be displayed when a viewer hovers their cursor over your block(s), subject to "content suitability" rules.
  • Resale. You may resell your block(s) subject to "resale" rules.
• Limitations. Owners of blocks have no rights to the domain name worldforsale.com, hosted files, intellectual property or any other item related to WorldForSale.com whatsoever, with the exception of rights listed in item 2.
• Content suitability.
  • Logos and website description. All logos and website descriptions will be assessed by me and I have the final word on whether an image and/or description is suitable. Images and website descriptions must be suitable for all age groups and not contain explicit/offensive material or language. Images must be gif/jpeg/png. Images must be the exact dimensions you have paid for and a reasonable KB size. No animations are allowed. If I reject your image/description, you are free to resubmit or cancel.
  • Linked content. The link must be to a valid http:// website, checked by me. The linked page must not contain, or have links to, content that contains adult images, any form of illegal activities, spam, phishing, etc. The link shown must also be the same address as the final destination - no forwarding is allowed. Any changes to the final destination of the link are strictly forbidden. I reserve the right to cancel all your rights immediately if you break any of these rules and resell your blocks without returning any paid money. Although I understand that most people have no underhand intentions, for those that do - you have been warned.
• Payment. All blocks must be paid for in full and payment confirmed by me before I upload logos, links and website descriptions to the live site. I will endeavour to update the website as quickly as possible following payment, hopefully within a day or two. Payment is made through PayPal and there are no refunds for accepted and published blocks.
• Resale. BEWARE! To avoid the risk of fraud, all price negotiations and payments must be performed exclusively through me and not privately. There will never be any other agents involved in block resale and I hold no responsibility for any such damage or loss.
  Resale of blocks is subject to the following rules:
  • Negotiation. All negotiations will be overseen exclusively by me. Please contact me with the block(s) you wish to buy and I will contact the current owner to open negotiations. I do not guarantee successful negotiation.
  • Resale payment. All resale payments will be overseen exclusively by me. After a sales price has been agreed, the payment will be made using a trustworthy escrow agent. I accept no responsibility for cancellations, damages/loss during the resale payment.
  • Sales commission. Every block resale is subject to sales commission paid by the seller. Sales commission is 20% of the final sales price which will be confirmed during the resale period. Commission must be paid for in full and confirmed by me before any transfer of logos, links, etc. The commission rate is not negotiable.
  • Transfer. Changes to logos, website descriptions and links will be performed exclusively by me. I will change the logos, website description and links subject to the rules listed above after confirmation of successful payment from all parties.
• Site maintenance. I will endeavour to keep this to a minimum but please note that the site may go down from time to time. I make no guarantees regarding the percentage of downtime but any downtime should be short. Also, I have tried to make this site appear the same across all browsers/platforms although some discrepancies will exist.
• Site lifespan. I guarantee that WorldForSale.com will be maintained for ten years from the start date (15th February, 2009). However, if the site is successful, I would like to keep it running for much longer.
• Site design and maintenence. I reserve the right to change the design of the website periodically and add/delete pages. However, the design, size, shape, position and colours of the world map, related land areas and currently active icons will never be changed and will always be on the front page.
• Domain name, maintenance, intellectual property. WorldForSale.com, the domain name, hosted files, html, selected javascript code and all intellectual property are copyrighted to, and exclusively owned by me, Michael Davenport. I reserve the right to sell the entire site but guarantee that any sale will maintain the site in accordance to all the rules and conditions listed above.
• Everything else. Any issue arising that is not listed here is subject to discussion between the parties involved. I reserve the right to make all final decisions.
