About World For Sale

The idea of WorldForSale.com is simple: each empty block on the world map is on sale for US$100. Purchase of block(s) not only gives you bragging rights for that area of the world ("Hey, I own California...") but allows you to promote your website, business, blog, photo gallery, etc. by placing a logo over your land and linking to your website. You can buy as many or as few blocks as you wish and for the investors out there, you are free to sell your blocks in the future (please read the rules).

Why I created WorldForSale.com:

• It sounded like fun. Wouldn't you like to own a big chunk of the world for a hundred bucks?
• A cheap investment opportunity. Who knows, World for Sale might be a huge success. And if so, the subsequent business through internet traffic and block resale will be well worth the small initial cost.
• Sociological experiment. I thought that it would be interesting to see how the world sells, in what order and which places. World History shows how things have been moving.
• Money. Yes, like everyone else I am motivated by money. But... everyone that shows faith in the concept has a chance to make money too. And, I guarantee to give 10% of all profit to charity. Now doesn't that make you feel better about buying that city?
